Scarlet Ball Cactus is a compact, globe-shaped cactus covered in dense white spines that give it a soft, silvery appearance. When mature and happy, it can produce vibrant orange-red to scarlet flowers near the top of the plant, creating a striking contrast against its pale spines. Parodia haselbergii is the currently accepted botanical name; it may also be sold under the older name Notocactus haselbergii.
Light: Bright light to several hours of direct sunlight; a sunny south- or west-facing window is ideal
Water: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings; reduce watering significantly during winter
Soil: Very well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or pumice
